V & Wedge Belts
V Belts are the basic belts used for transmitting power, transferring it into motion. Named after their default “V” shape, these belts are commonly used in machines because of their balanced mix of speed, strength, durability, and traction. Their impressive quality and efficient design make V Belts one of the most common belts used in mechanical machines like lawnmowers and other similar applications.
Almost identical in design, Wedge Belts are like V Belts but are manufactured with a deeper profile. This affords the Wedge Belt greater durability, necessitating fewer belts and/or V Pulleys as a result. Special variants like Narrow Wedge Belts and Cogged Raw Edge Belts are also available for a number of useful and specific applications.
- Narrow Wedge Belts – As the name implies, this variant has a narrower width-to-height ratio, making it the perfect choice for some applications. - Cogged Raw Edge Belts – A variant featuring “teeth”, allowing the belt to hex more and transfer force/power more effectively.
