Gear Racking

Consisting of gear teeth evenly spaced in a straight line with a pinion on the rack, gear racks (or racking) work similarly to a spur gear but with a linear mechanism.

The linear attribute of the gear rack makes it possible for the conversion of the pinion's supposed rotary motion into linear motion. This characteristic renders gear racking ideal to be used in heavy duty loads, as it is able to provide better and greater feedback, while reducing backlash or gear clearance. Reduced backlash or gear clearance is crucial in mechanical operations requiring high precision.

BearingShopUK provides gear racking in different sizes, module pitches, lengths, and widths to suit your every need. Our gear racking range includes varying module pitches starting from 0.5 mod to 8 mod, with racking lengths varying from 0.3 metres to 2 metres, and racking heights from 5mm to 80mm. Our racking is available in widths starting from 10mm up to 80mm.

The racking we provide is ideal for use in plenty of applications like steering and guide mechanisms, machine tools, x-y axis tables, shakers and lift mechanisms.
